Note
The cornerstone for the Calvary Presbyterian Church was laid September 11, 1882, and was home to a Presbyterian congregation until 1948 when it became respectively the Evangel Baptist Church (c. 1948-1951), the First Southern Baptist Church (1951-1965), and the Metroplitan Baptist Church (1965-1967). Spared from demolition in 1968, the building is now managed by the Old Church Society, Inc., and is a community venue for concerts and lectures.
