Designs repeated across the top and bottom of the cloth incorporate the papal emblem (with two crossed keys and the Triregnum, or crown with three levels) and an emblem with a stylized cross and the letter M. Other designs include a stylized letter "J" and a cord.

Yellow, pink and blue wall hanging commemorating the official wedding of President Bakili Muluzi and Patricia Shanil Fukulani Dzimbiri (Shanil Muluzi), to whom he had already been married for 12 years. A single large circle contains a heart-shaped image of the bride and groom and the text "Happy Marriage 9th October 1999". There is a blue and yellow floral design in each corner.
