Description
2 p. A typed letter to University of Oregon President Robert D. Clark from 6 faculty members serving on the Student Conduct Comittee. The letter, dated March 2, 1970, responds to the policies and procedures set in place by the Student Conduct Code to deal with disruptions, violence, and student unrest. This letter explains that the Student Conduct Code was not written with the intention of providing disciplinary solutions to such episodes of unrest or violence. The letter outlines the potential need for use of police and civil authorities in times of unrest and urges the University adminsitration to take 'preventive measures' in order to avoid further escalation of violence, unrest, and disruption on campus. Document from the University of Oregon Office of the President.
