- Hand tinted image. An interior view of Gertrude Bass Warner's drawing room in Shanghai, China. At the edges of the image are long velvet curtains with trim. Inside the room is furniture that consists of two wooden chairs and a wooden stand. The chair on the left is ornately carved and has velvet material covering its cushion. A fireplace with an ornamental mantel is visible against the side wall. The mantel consists of four classical columns and an opening that is surrounded by square tiles. On top of the mantel shelf are three vases and two pictures. Hanging on the wall on either side of the fireplace are two mounted light fixtures. Between the light fixtures hangs a large framed picture. On the adjacent wall another famed picture is visible. Below this picture is a wooden stand. On top of this stand is a picture and vase that contains a plant. At the far right edge of the image is a long curtain. The wood floor of the room is covered with multiple rugs with fringed edges and abstract patterns on their surface.
