Description
Black and white image. Although writing on the image identifies the people as a Chinese bride and bridegroom, it is believed that they are Chinese opera performers. The performers appear to be in their teens, with the boy standing on the left and the girl on the right. The girl's right hand is placed on the boy's left shoulder. The boy holds in his hands a stage prop sword with a long handle. The girls also carries a swrod in scabbard strapped to her waist. As the performers in the image are not wearing theatrical make-up, it is believed that the photo was taken when the actors were in practice or during a rehearsal. Behind the couple is a partially visible wooden table. The floor on which they stand is made of tiles with abstract patterns on their surface.
