- Description
- Hand tinted image. A traditional Chinese boat with passengers and a large rectangular sail floats down the Grand Canal. The boat's sail is made partly of bamboo. On the right side of the canal, logs float on the water next to small roofed structures. A steep grass-filled embankment and mulberry trees can be seen on the far left side of the canal. Partially visible in the distance are boats, oars, dwellings, and an arched pedestrian bridge spanning the width of the canal.
