- Description
- Two girls pose on an elaborately decorated ocean-themed Rose Festival parade float. The girls are seated in a shell-shaped seat that is lined with light bulbs. Above the shells is a rounded canopy lined with light bulbs and hanging tassels. Each girl is dressed in a headpiece and a detailed gown. Three horned sea serpent sculptures line the front of the float. On the middle of the float is a fish sculpture, and in the rear is a serpent sculpture with a long neck and fins. A sign that hangs from the front of the float reads, 7 Shells of the ocean. Above the sign is a sculpted winged canine. Painted waves can be seen on the front and side of the float. The float is situated on railroad tracks. A large sheer piece of material hangs behind the float partially concealing a large classically styled building with a pediment and columns. Grass fills the foreground of the image.
