- A man identified as Elijah Davidson sits on a rock next to the entrance of the Oregon Caves National Monument. Elijah is seated holding a brimmed hat and dressed in a jacket, button-up shirt, cuffed trouser, and boots. Directly across from Elijah is a posted sign that reads, in part, Oregon Caves National Monument. From this sign hangs a small leather bag with strap. Handwritten on the reverse of the silver gelatin print is Historic #88 - lower entrance and Elijah Davidson, discovered 1874 - Oregon caves
