- A woman, identified as a Portland Rose Festival Queen named Jean Marie Hoover, is seated at a carved wooden throne holding a large bouquet of roses. She is dressed in a gown covered with a robe that has a raised scalloped collar and is secured with a jeweled brooch. On either side of her are members of her court holding small bouquets of flowers and dressed in evening gowns and fur shawls. The women's hair is curled and decorated with bows. Partially visible in the background are two wooden structures and a building with a spire.
