Two long windows, one with a tattered cloth shade, line the wooden wall on the left side of the image. Pictures hang decorating the walls. A blackboard with writing on its surface spans the wall in the background. In front of the blackboard is a map that hangs on a stand, and a wooden table with books stacked on its surface. A partial view of a world map is visible at the left corner of the image. A wooden box, container of ink, book, and papers are visible on the surface of the desks in the foreground.
