Villard Hall was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1977. This work was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
In 1948-1949, the University Theater (Robinson Theater) was attached to the west side of Villard Hall. The picture shows in the foreground the quonset hut used by Journalism.
