Significance statement: This house is primarily significant for its association with Ronald Callvert, former managing editor of the Oregonian and Pulitzer Prize winner. Mr. Callvert was with the Oregonian for 42 years, retiring in 1951 . His prize winning article was written in 1938 and was entitled "My Country Tis of Thee" . He was also a member of the "Great Skidoo", a group of radio amateurs which eventually led to the founding of the police sunshine division .
