- According to the National Register nomination, construction began on the Imperial Hotel in 1892 and the hotel had an informal opening in March 1894. While F. Manson White gets credit for its design, the National Register nomination raises questions about the extent of his involvement, if any. The building strongly resembles the work of the firm McCaw & Martin. White left employment with McCaw & Martin in July 1892 and construction began on the Imperial Hotel only three months later, in October 1892.
