Note
Willamette Hall was dedicated on Oct. 16, 1989, in a ceremony that included Governor Neil Goldschmidt and Senator Mark Hatfield. Environmental protestors, positioned throughout the atrium, enlivened the ceremony. Willamette Hall was the centerpiece of a $45.6 million project that included Cascade Hall, Deschutes Hall, Streisinger Hall.. Funding for the four new buildings came primarily through a Department of Energy grant made possible through the work of Governor Victor Atiyeh and Senator Mark O. Hatfield. The four story atrium, named after UO's 13th president, Paul Olum, is one of the most impressive interiors on campus. Cascade Hall, Deschutes Hall, Streisinger Hall, and Willamette Hall opened for classes, Winter Quarter, 1990.
