Description
National Register of Historic Places (Listed, 2015) The Jefferson County Courthouse was originally constructed in 1917 as the Madras City Hall. A formal agreement in 1919 established shared occupancy of the building by city government and county offices and court. A new courthouse was built a block away in 1961. The architect, Oregon Gilbert Brubaker, was born in 1861 in Indiana and died Dec. 3, 1925 in Brookings, Oregon.
