Manuscript comprises 229 vellum folios and has five distinct parts. The 1st two folios are missing; At the end of the 2nd part, Renier de Gennes, eight folios are missing. These were missing in 1883.

Manuscript originally purchased by Sir Thomas Phillips in 1861 and added to his collection at Cheltenham as no. 26,092. Subsequently purchased by the University of Oregon in 1956.
