Biographical Information
I am an African American female artist. I make sculpture. I taught myself how to make fences out of fabric (Fences out of wood and metal are heavy and take up too much space.) I have made many variations of these fences. Cages and fences were built to hold the Africans captured for slavery. They represent the institution of slavery. (Dingus, 1995)
