Description
A jumble of rectangular shapes rendered in black, white, red, purple, yellow, and turquoise imply the action of this piece. Biographical Information
(1986) Site #3 is from a series of nine monotypes done at Northlght Studio in Portland, 1986. The idea for a series of sites or specific locals came about due to an artist/residency spent in the mountains above Las Vegas, Nevada, in July, 1985. The sites were all imagined, and evolved eventually as aerial views of the desert which I viewed as a giant and unspoiled tablet. The spiral imagery which occurs in several of the prints suggests to me someting of memory. The sense of something coiling and uncoiling but always coming from a source. (Judy Cooke)
