- One Wind Vane is installed on top of the Child Care Center and another is installed on an 8 foot pipe near the outside playground. The installation was done on existing pipe and structural supports supplied by OIT Physical Plant, and any problems or maintenance on the pipe, roof or footing are the responsibility of OIT. - The Wind Vanes installed at OIT Child Care Center are constructed of welded and riveted aluminum. Each Wind Vane is properly prepared and painted consisting of a primer coat, color coat, accents and a clear coat of polyurethane. The paint is that which is used on autos, boats, RV;'s and airplanes and is considered the highest quality paint available today. The turning mechanism for the Wind Vanes has been specifically designed to move freely and unemcumbered in a closed weather tight unit using 2 high quality life-time sealed bearings.
