Biographical Information
My objective is to celebrate the recognition of beauty, mystery, and harmony in the phenomenal world. In photography, such discovery is informed, as significance is revealed, by the molding power of light itself...its texture and radiance. I use outmoded equipment and a nineteenth century printing process to borrow, and return, this Light. Yet my photographs are intended to transcend literal representation by inspiring a metaphoric and emotional response. While the tactile qualities of the prints beckon with their own loveliness, in fidelity to some outward experience, the real subject is conveyed beneath these surfaces in an intuitive realm. I want my images to evoke a sense of wonder, and of affirmation. (Harding, 1985)
