Biographical Information
Racing the sun arose from a cross country ski trip during which It became evident that the winter sun might set before our return. This would have necessitated and impromtu overnight stay. The silence, exertion, and intensity of concentration heightened the experience and hence the print beyond a literal visual interpretation. (Rathbun, 1989)
