Biographical Information
Mesquite is part of a desert study series that provided a shift from the influence of my familiar environment. I was interested in the design of nature, revealed both in the sculptural rock forms (varying from angular geometric shapes to bulbous round combinations), and the closely related warm earth tones. I maintained a close perspective, emphasizing structural grouping. The media was a mix of watercolor and colored pencil applied to paper. (Miller, 1990)
