It has been 11 years since I started to live in the Northwest. Attracted to the beauty of the waterfall, I have created over a hundred Paper Cuttings of the different falls. During these past 11 years, I have sketched oceans, rivers, and waterfalls trying to capture the natural beauty and I hoped and dreamed of expressing this wonderful nature by the old and traditional art techinique called Paper Cutting from Japan and China. Shooting Star is one of my Night Scene Series. This is the subjects that I dreamed of and the natural beauty in the night I tried to express. (Sogabe, 1990)
