- Description
-
A large, stylized red cat against a bright blue background. The contents of the cat's belly are revealed by two squiggly-outlined bubbles. They contain a person, a car, a slice of cake, an ice cream cone, a dog, a human hand, foot, and eye, a house, a bird, a carrot, a fish, and a strawberry. The cat holds a white mouse by the tail in its mouth, and it faces a small female figure wearing a black dog mask, which occupies the upper left-hand corner.
Inside Every Fat Cat Is a Thin Cat Trying to Get Out; Claudia Cave; gouche; 25 x 25 inches; 1988
Cave combines humor and satire embodied in a cartoon-like drawing style to share her perspective on life and society. In most of Cave's pieces, as in *Fat Cat (Inside Every Fat Cat is a Thin Cat Trying to Get Out)*, the viewer may also sense an element of danger. Cave is a graduate of Western Oregon State College.
