Note
Currently part of the RiverBend Correctional Facility and located at the base of the Blue Mountain Grande Ronde River, Camp Hilgard was a 25-bed minimum security work/study camp for male youth offenders transitioning from an Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) youth correctional facility to their communities. In 1979, Camp Hilgard generally served youth from Central and Eastern Oregon, but occasionally served youth from communities west of the Cascades. Camp Hilgard is a closed, secured location unavailable to the public. (background information from Oregon Blue Book, Oregon Youth Authority: Agency History.)
