This is a playful look at a serious subject -- my intent was to at first attract and amuse the viewer with a beautiful fish suspended in the brightly colored ring. The image is one of a roller coaster loop-the-loop. Of course, with a little thought, we also know that the salmon is an endangered creature and that the actions and inactions of various agencies and concerned groups results in a dead-end roller coaster ride for this fish. (Zapponi, 1988)
