I designed the pool windows to play off of movement, energy and light. We start with an organized grid of optical hand cast jewels from Europe. These jewels allow for light to pass through, but offer enough privacy so that one on the pool side of the window feels comfortable. These jewels have the illusion of being filled with water and the slightest change of viewing angle cause these jewels to visually "Dance". The grid of jewels slowly break into horizontal waves of etched glass that are carefully shaded on multiple layers of glass. The composition is completed by a strong horizontal band of dichroic glass. The overall effect is one of translucency and jewel like "portals" with a small complement of color. (Huether, 1999)
