Description
Bronze cista or container for cosmetic articles; engraving perhaps re-cut in the 19thC, possibly over an existing image. Main scene perhaps represents a parody of the Judgement of Paris; the figures forming the handle are a young satyr and a maenad. --The British Museum Walters, H B, Catalogue of the Bronzes in the British Museum.
