- Emeritus Dean of Science F. A. Gilfillan (left) and Chemistry Department Head Bert E. Christensen (right). Francois A. Gilfillan was a professor of Chemistry (1927-1939) and Dean of Science (1939-1962). Gilfillan also filled in as acting President of Oregon State College from 1941-1942. Dr. Bert E. Christensen was a Professor of Chemistry from 1931-1971.
