- Born in Minnesota in 1923, Hugh J. Hansen came to OSU in 1974 to assume the post of Manager of the Western Regional Agricultural Engineering Service. Hansen later served in the position of Extension Energy and Agricultural Engineer. Briefly serving as acting head of the Agricultural Engineering Department in 1986, Hansen retired in 1990. He died in 2001.
