- Beginning his career in the Farm Crops Department in 1927, Donald David Hill gained international recognition for his work as a seed and farm crops specialist and is credited for Oregon's development as a major center of seed production. After retiring from Oregon State College in 1959, Hill worked with an Oregon wheat marketing organization, Western Wheat Associates, in a number of countries in Asia, including India and Pakistan. Hill served as a Professor in the Farm Crops Department. He was department chairman from 1943 to 1959.
