Description: Edward John Slezak was born December 20, 1913 in Amsterdam, New York. In 1938 he received his B.A. and in 1952 his M.A. in Education, Physical Education and Recreation from the University of Michigan. He started work at Oregon State University on September 1, 1961 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Education, specifically focusing on physical education for men. Slezak produced radio and television shows and actively served as a consultant for camps, recreation and aquatic programs. He was named Professor Emeritus of Resource Recreation Management on June 15, 1979.
