Joe Craig is wearing a feathered headdress with dangling silver ornaments at the ears. He is wearing a fringed leather shirt decorated down the front with fur. He has a short fringed plaid breechcloth.. He is wearing leather fringed leggings. The shin of the left leg has a geometric design. He is wearing moccasins decorated with a geometric design. He is standing in front of a blanket backdrop that is tacked up to a wooden frame. On the left side of the photograph is a wooden walkway. Behind the frame are trees. And in the right side of the photograph in the far background is a house. Writing on the photograph is just behind the man's left leg on the bottom right corner of the blanket "Joe Craig Major Moorhouse".
