Description
A Native American man, identified as Chief Peo of the Umatilla tribe, rides a horse which faces to the left of the photograph. He wears a large feather headdress, a decorated armband, leggings, and a necklace. In his right hand he holds a tomahawk. His horse wears a stock saddle and curb bridle.

Tribal Notes
An outside photograph of a man identified as Peo dressed in his regalia sitting on his horse. He is wearing a single trail bonnet with Eagle feathers, fur bandoleer, brass armbands, cloth shirt, and a blanket wrapped around his legs. He is holding a hatchet style pipe in his right hand and the reins in his left hand. He and the horse are facing to the left side of the photograph. The only horse gear that the horse has on is a bridle and a saddle. In the background, in the left side of the photograph, which is in front of the horse, are another horse next to a house and other unidentified objects next to the horse and the house.
