- A tipi stands in an open grassy area with a background of small hills, trees and fences. Near the door of the tipi is a small pile of tree branches.

- An outside photograph of a single canvas tipi in open ground. This camp site has been identified at the end of Kirkpatrick Road on the north side of the Umatilla River on the Umatilla Reservation. The tipi is facing away from the brush and trees. There is a small pile of firewood next to the door of the tipi. Behind the tipi there are a number of fences next to the brush and the trees. In the background on the left side of the photograph is a field that has been plowed on the hillside. Writing on the photograph is "Scene on the Umatilla Indian Reservation Maj. Moorhouse."
