- Ten tipis stand in a row with buildings and deciduous trees behind them. In front of the tipis, on the left side of the photo, is a white house with a porch.

- An outside photograph of ten canvas tipis next to five buildings. This has been identified as Cayuse Station which is across the railroad tracks on the north side from the present day Cayuse. There are canvas tipis in a row all facing the same direction. Behind a few of the tipis are some unidentified objects. The buildings are on the far end of the row of tipis. Three of the buildings are behind the tipis and one is in front of the last tipi. In the background are cottonwood trees and the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The photograph was taken from the west looking east up the Umatilla River. Writing on the photograph is "Umatilla reservation July 4 -1909 Cayuse Sta. Maj. Moorhouse."
