Description
On the Umatilla Indian reservation at Thorn Hollow, three tipis sit in the woods on the banks of a stream. There are some clothes spread on the bushes by one of the tipis. Behind the encampment is a river. On a gravelly bank logs lie on the ground. In the background is a hill with a fallen log.

An outside photograph of a three unidentified canvas tipis in the brush. The photograph was taken from top of a hill looking down on the campsite. The three canvas tipis are next to a row of cottonwood trees. The trees are covering most of the tipis. In the foreground is part of the river that is still and you can see the reflection of the trees in the water. In front of the tipis on the brush are possibly some clothes set out to dry. In the background is the Umatilla River running from the right side of the photograph to the left side. Writing on the photograph is "Umatilla Reservation near Thorn Hollow Maj. Moorhouse."
