C. (Clarence) Crawford Hollidge was a high end women's specialty store by 1930. Two of the four locations were Boston and Wellesly. They had a shoe department in 1946. The store lasted into the 1970s. The platform sole was introduced in the United States in 1941. Sandals were popular in the 1940s.
