Note
Wrappers were worn in the morning to have breakfast and attend to morning activities in the home. A lady could have visits from family members or close friends while wearing her wrapper, as it might take a long time for her to change. Wrappers were often designed to accommodate a wide skirt and bustle. Information from Lady Godey's magazine. DLF 2016.
