Albert Nipon and his wife Pearl were American fashion designers who started out in 1954 designing maternity clothes. Pearl did most of the designing and focused on comfortable, stylish clothing for working women. The label reached its peak in the 1980s, and was favored by Nancy Reagan, Mary Tyler Moore, and Barbara Walters. The business was sold to Leslie Fay Co. in 1988, but the label still exists today.
