Population, 676,657. Prague, the capital of Czechoslovakia, is situated in the most productive part of the country. It has become one of the chief industrial and trading centers in central Europe. Prague is on a tributary of the Elbe river. Czechoslovakia is about the size of the state of Illinois. It is rich agriculturally being a land of intensive farming. It has free use of the Elbe, Oder and Danube rivers, and harbor privileges in Hamburg, Stettin, Trieste and Fiume.
