a) Day dress of linen cambric with open-work bands of floral wheels applied at bodice, sleeves and skirt; band collar of open-work floral wheels trimmed in tiny pleated tulle ruffle; center-front yoke panel of pin tucked mousseline de soie; three quarter length full sleeves with pin tucked and cuffs of open-work band; bodice has tucks from shoulder that release at bust; bloused bodice is gently gathered into waistband; button placket at center-back; below-knee length. b) Panel of self-fabric to extend length.

The lingerie dress was popular from 1900 to 1910. It was inspired by the chemise gown of the 18th century. The lingerie dress was a day dress worn to outdoor events. Lingerie dresses were decorative with pin tucks, embroidery, lace, ruffles...
