Note
Dwight D. Eisenhower was in the Army during WWII. He actually designed this jacket himself as he found the former jackets to be too restrictive for combat. The jacket is roomy with wider sleeves so it can be worn over other garments. The favored jacket became standard issue for U.S. troops in November 1944, and came to be known as the "Ike" jacket.
