- Record says this is from Dhaka (Dacca). There was a cotton plant that was native to Dacca and because of the unique conditions of the place, the cotton plant called Phuti Karpas only grew there. It produced the finest and highest thread count of cotton, and was woven into the most gossamer fabric.
