Construction of the keel of a Liberty Ship is shown in this detailed photograph. Location is not listed on the photograph. Built by the Kaiser Corp at four shipyards in California and three in the Northwest (including Portland, Oregon). Kaiser developed methods for prefabricating and mass producing Liberty Ships. The shipyards in Portland, Oregon produced this type of ship during the war.
