- Note
- Fortuny created interior textiles of block-print cotton beginning in the early 1900s. His family collected historical textiles and he continued to do the same. He was inspired by the art of the Italian Renaissance, but also Pre-Columbian, Central and South America, Coptic textiles and Chinese brush paintings. He made these cotton block prints affordable as well.
