Offering baskets are very common in the Bali and Lombok regions. There are simple baskets for daily sort of offerings of flowers and rice. The more decorative baskets, particularly the one here, is made for temple offerings, which may include money. The Balinese culture has a strong sense of gratitude and each of the flowers that are offered to "the spirits" have particular significance. The offerings are believed to bring health and prosperity to the family. (DLF 2017)
