Note
These sandals are called, Geta. They are traditionally worn with a yugata, which is a cotton kimono-like garment worn during the summer and is worn for more casual occasions. The Geta elevated sole protects the wearer's full-length yugata from getting dirty, and also protects the wearer's feet from rain or snow.
