- Note
- The pod-like nests with birds in them appear to be a motif of the Edible-nest swiftlets, a bird found in South East Asia that creates its nest out of hardened saliva. The nests are used to make the renowned, Bird's Nest Soup, and are one of the most expensive animal ingredients in the world. The soup is said to have medicinal and aphrodisiac properties. The plump birds appear to be the Bali myna or starling bird.
