Skirt suit ensemble of dark olive green wool plaid paired with a silk blouse: a) Jacket of self-plaid with notched collar and button-front closure; 2 stacked patch pockets with lapels and single button closure below each bust; long sleeves with vent at wrist and button accent; inner shoulder pads; all buttons covered in self; hits at hips; lined in olive green crepe. b) Skirt of self-plaid with 1" waistband; lower mid-length with 10" slit-pleat at back; side tab with hook and eye and zip closure; partially lined at back with olive green silk. c) Blouse of olive green rayon faille with round neckline; short sleeves; 2 stitched pleats from neckline to waist; double bust darts; 1 3/4" band at waistline; concealed button closure at back; hits at waistline. d) Belt of dark green leather tapered at ends; 1 1/2" at widest.

M&F is Meier & Frank Co. was a chain of department stores founded in Portland, OR in 1857. The Crest Room was on the third floor of the flagship store in Portland. Meier and Frank Co. was bought out by May Department Store co. in 1966. Closed in 2006. Davidow was a manufacturer of coats and suits, founded in the late 19th century. They were known for their finely tailored suits. They were inspired by, and copied, Chanel suits in the 1960s. (Vintage Fashion Guild)
